Vilma Avila, a Québécoise at heart and a Panamanian by origin, created a wave of tremendous reactions with her clip A Bailar, which was viewed more than a million times on YouTube. Through her Latin pop style music, we discover a singer-songwriter who is inspired by traditional Latin music and North American pop. She draws her inspirations from a wide range of artists; Jennifer Lopez’s dancing universe to Céline Dion’s and Shakira’s ballads, together with Madonna’s personality and songs.

After taking by storm the stages in Québec, she conquered the crowds in Panama and Costa Rica with her show tour of several months and more than a hundred interviews and television appearances.

Her greatest dream is to touch as many hearts as possible with her songs. Since early childhood, she cumulates compositions, and her collection spreads now to over 400 texts. Armed with her exuberant creativity, this talented artist launched her professional career as a singer more than six years ago after training in singing, interpretation, composition and show-business at the reputable music school Prochant in Montreal.

Vilma, who was moving towards a flourishing career in law, traded her lawyer’s gown for the artist’s hat. During her first concert in 2010 at Petit Medley in Montréal, Vilma had a revelation: she must become a professional singer. As a lawyer specialized in copyright protection, she had always dreamt secretly to perform on stages throughout the world, and today, she is realizing her vision. Her catchy songs spread happiness throughout Québec, and all the way to Latin America.

After a short absence devoted fully to her new role as a mother, she has now returned under the projectors, transformed, more sensitive and more poised as ever. After several successful hits, such as La vie est belle, which has played on Virgin Radio, Radio Énergie, Rouge FM, CHOQ-FM and CJAD during the Coffrets Prestige’s promotional campaign, a new radio single and a videoclip are set to be released soon.

In March of 2019, Vilma Avila will launch her first album with songs reflecting her warmth, joy, dancing, reflective texts, rhythmic music and felt ballades.

In addition to her shows, she continues to manage her own enterprise PrimaStar Productions and her Foundation Alegria, an organization helping the underprivileged children in Panama.
